2024 ICCAC Fall Preview | Women's Cross Country
The ICCAC Women's Cross Country season begins with multiple teams eyeing to be the best in the region and go on to compete at the National Championship.
In Division I, Iowa Western sits atop the Coaches Poll for the second straight year. The Reivers justified this in 2023 by winning the Region 11 Championship and finishing third at the National Championship. They return a bulk of their top performers from last season. Behind the Reivers sit Iowa Central and Indian Hills. Iowa Central under long-time Coach Dee Brown has had a ton of success and will be eying to compete with Iowa Western. Indian Hills looks to continue improving in order to compete in a tough field of DI teams.
Southeastern is again expected to be the top ICCAC team in Division II following a second consecutive Region 11 Championships victory. The Blackhawks bring back only one of their top 5 runners from 2023 but do have a group that can make that step up to fill in for the loss.
DMACC, NIACC, Hawkeye and Scott round out the rest of the teams in Division II. DMACC finished last season losing the region on a tiebreaker to Southeastern and will undoubtedly be pushing to take home the title in 2024.
